You will never see this surface dumped in a land fill.

High tech machines actually cryogenically break down the rubber and separate the rubber from the steel belting and the rubber is being sold to surfacing companies and even used with asphalt for paving highways and roads. Many years of technology have been employed to find a way to get rid of these tires, which take up to 500 years to decompose. Burning them caused such toxic air pollution that it wasn't feasible.
